Since Doug and Greta Moran opened their first nursing home in 1956, prompted by the needs
of an elderly relative, the Group has grown exponentially. Given its fundamental
understanding of the specific needs of the
elderly, frail and disabled members of our community, this growth is a
testament to the effectiveness of the Groups work, which has earned it the
respect of government bodies, industry groups and the community.
With a consistency of focus and solid commitment to quality of care, the Group has
repeatedly demonstrated its ability to respond to the changing needs of the health and
aged care environment. This places the Group in a unique position to continue to
meet the challenges and opportunities presented by ageing populations in Australia and
internationally.
The Groups services are wide ranging. Residential high care (formerly
known as nursing homes) and residential low care (formerly hostels) provide totality of
care balanced with quality of life standards.
Assisted living apartments and retirement villages, allow individuals to retain
maximum freedom while maintaining access to care. The Group also designs, constructs, and manages aged care facilities to
ensure consistency and excellence.
In conjunction with a systems based approach to achieve continuous improvement, the
Groups commitment to quality is seen in the ongoing education, development and
career opportunities made available to its over 7,000 staff. This people-centred focus is
reflected in the Groups interaction with staff, residents and the community at large.
