Moran at Little Bay is the most technologically advanced aged care facility in Australia. This allows you peace of mind, that your elderly loved ones are being looked after with the best of equipment, and the very latest security systems available.

In the technological world that we live in today, it's traditionally that aged care and aged care facilities are behind the times. But here at Moran at Little Bay, it's completely the opposite. We offer the latest available technology in the rooms and throughout the whole facility.

All of our rooms are obviously Foxtel-capable, and we also have the latest in Nurse call systems available as well. It ensures that residents are able to contact a nurse, should a situation arise that is not so nice, and they need to get someone to see them as soon as possible. So we have bedside sensors, motion sensors within the rooms, so basically if they're moving around at night, we can know they're there before they know we're there. We've got sensors in the bed as well that detect when the resident is out of the bed, so if in the middle of the night that situation does arise, the nurse will be notified immediately, and they're in the room before you know it.

We offer a Cisco Telephony system here, it's the latest, state of the art Voice over IP system, and not many nursing homes offer that facility but we do here. It allows us to locate any staff member or resident, if we need to, in the building should there be a duress event. Basically, once the event starts to occur, we can locate them down to the bedroom level, and we can have a nurse or someone else there to assist them instantly. A duress event is maybe a staff member, who has a resident who has fallen down or hurt themselves, and rather than leave the resident while they go get help, the system will automatically locate them, and tell another nurse to come and help immediately.

So all our rooms have internet capabilities, and that's cabled and wireless, and the wireless extends throughout the rest of the facility as well. Environmentally, the building is technologically advanced as well. We have a solar hot water system on the roof of the building, which caters for all of our residents, and also feature natural light throughout the building, and also we've got energy efficient lighting throughout the entire building. We use a lot of environmentally sound principles here. We have on all our top floors large skylights, allowing ample sunlight and daylight into all our top floors, to really give the place a homely feel.

We have a great security system here at Little Bay. We offer a keyless system via proxy cards, for residents and their families. This allows residents and families to travel internally in the building, and also those residents who tend to wander - particularly our dementia patients - the same system protects the residents from getting outside. We have an extensive CCTV system throughout the building. We offer a number of cameras on the internal and external exits of the building, which provides monitoring 24/7, to keep all of our residents safe. This sort of technology is the latest and greatest that is available, and we're very fortunate here at Moran at Little Bay to utilise this technology for the care of our residents, and their families.
