ANNE SPUDVILAS
BORN VICTORIA 1951
VICTORIA

Anne is a painter, illustrator and graphic designer whose art career began as part of her work on a local newspaper. It was not until after the birth of her two children that she studied art with Robert Hollingworth at his Geelong Fine Art Studio. She had a solo exhibition in 1985 and has illustrated three children's books. She is represented in public and private collections.

"I work almost exclusively in oils, painting mostly people, an endless source of fascinating subject matter.

"Ross is an inspirational teacher at Matthew Flinders Girls' Secondary School in Geelong. He is a finalist in this year's Victorian Teacher of the Year awards, nominated by the parents. In 1989 he began the College stage band, which has evolved under his energetic direction into a professional big band, playing forties' standards through to sixties' rhythm and blues. The band has toured Queensland, performing at Dreamworld and Seaworld. They were finalists in the national Pacific Rim Jazz Festival in a field of professional swing bands. Band members in the painting are all students at the College from years 8 to 12."
